Obama Attacks Abortion Survivor

Obama has unleashed a despicable lying attack ad against John McCain in response to an ad by an independent group stating the facts about his indefensible record on the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.

Here is the ad by BornAliveTruth.org

Amanda Carpenter outlines Obama's Left of NARAL position on abortion.
Sen. Barack Obama (D.-Ill.) portrays himself as a thoughtful Democrat who carefully considers both sides of controversial issues, but his radical stance on abortion puts him further left on that issue than even NARAL Pro-Choice America.

In 2002, as an Illinois legislator, Obama voted against the Induced Infant Liability Act, which would have protected babies that survived late-term abortions. That same year a similar federal law, the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, was signed by President Bush. Only 15 members of the U.S. House opposed it, and it passed the Senate unanimously [98-0] on a voice vote.

Kathryn Jean Lopez responds to this ad.
Barack Obama outdoes himself with this lying ad.

... Barack Obama defended infanticide in the Illinois statehouse. He voted
against protecting children who survive abortions — viable children
were left to die in a Illinois hospital and he would not take
legislative action to make that a clear criminal act. That's his
choice. But it's every American voter's choice to vote for or against a
candidate who has that record and lies about that record.

If this outrages you as much as it outrages me, do us all a favor and send an Obama supporter Mona Charen's column today on this issue during your lunch hour.
Abortion Survivor Gianna Jessen responds,
“Mr. Obama is clearly blinded by political ambition given his attack on me this week. All I asked of him was to do the right thing: support medical care and protection for babies who survive abortion – as I did 31 years ago. He voted against such protection and care four times even though the U.S. Senate voted 98-0 in favor of a bill identical to the one Obama opposed. In the words of his own false and misleading ad, his position is downright vile. Mr. Obama said at the recent Saddleback Forum that the question of when babies should get human rights was above his pay grade. Such vacillation and cowardice in public policy almost left me to die and no one should have to go through what I went through.”
In this article by Mona Charen she addresses Deniers for Obama.
Appearing on C-SPAN last weekend I mentioned that Barack Obama had opposed the Born Alive Infants Protection Act when he was an Illinois state senator — a position he has attempted to deny or obfuscate ever since. The liberal blogger who appeared on the program with me erupted with indignation. She didn’t deny that Obama had opposed the bill. She denied, hotly, that babies are ever born alive after an attempted abortion. Since I have actually met Gianna Jessen, who survived an attempted abortion, I invited viewers to contact me directly if they wanted evidence. My inbox has been bursting.
Read this interview with nurse/whistle-blower Jill Stanek.
Lopez: Is it your position that Barack Obama is pro-infanticide?

Stanek: An audio clip of Obama’s 2002 state senate floor speech was recently released. In it he admits babies may be aborted alive but a second physician shouldn’t be called to assess and treat abortion survivors because it would be a “burden” to the mother’s “original decision.” In other words, he thought babies marked for abortion but surviving should be allowed to die. What do you call that?

On the topic of abortion, even many people who defend the possibility of legal abortions, they say they are not pro-abortion, but they don’t want to punish women who are in this difficult situation. In Germany a curious thing has happened. Something that reflects that legal abortion affects adversely to the country. And also that the change is possible: you can promote a culture of life with the support of the citizens, when really there is a real wish of avoid abortions. Since the liberalization of abortion in this country, the number of abortions is officially four million. For that reason, among others, children are seen as an unintended effect of having sex. Many people thought it was necessary to promote greater social acceptance of children in an aging society. And civil society acted, without waiting for action by the State to promote births. They joined several media organizations in a campaign. Interestingly, after the campaign, the birth rate has risen in Germany. The video is exciting.
