The Sun News is fighting to save their Christmas traditions too.

Sun Readers speak out.
I’M delighted The Sun has the guts to challenge this ridiculous culture of political correctness that is ruining Christmas.

The festive season may have become over-commercialised but to ditch it because of fear of upsetting people of other religions is stupid.

There have been no calls from leaders of other faiths to remove Christmas from our culture.

Has the politically correct lobby even bothered to ask Christians whether they would be offended by this move?

PERHAPS the real reason that the powers that be are against Christmas is because, within the circles of Government, it is impossible to find three wise men and a virgin — and you can’t host a nativity play with just donkeys.

DAVE FRANKLIN

THIS week I will attend my four-year-old daughter’s “winter production” instead of nativity. Doesn’t it make you want to scream?

Migrants come to Britain because of the Christian compassion we show, so why would they be offended by our traditions?

I’M English but have lived in Canada for 23 years. Over that time our Christian celebrations have been whittled away by wallies who think more of non-Christians’ feelings than our own.

If people of other faiths don’t want to acknowledge our religion, that’s fine — but leave us to celebrate our beliefs.

ARTHUR GOSS

DIDN’T our families fight wars for our right to free speech and to practise religion without having to worry about offending others?

Do we ban Remembrance Sunday in case laying wreaths offends anyone?

WAYNE ROGAN

I’M aged 17 and am outraged at the PC brigade slowly eroding our Christmas traditions. We’re taught in school to treat other cultures with respect, so surely it should be the same for Christians.

NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED

PEOPLE should be allowed to worship who they like, where they like and how they like. Christianity is about believing in the goodness of others. But it is difficult to have faith in the nameless individuals who say we must celebrate in secret.

PLEASE think of the children before this most wonderful time of year is spoiled forever.

JOSEPHINE DONEGAM

PEOPLE who have taken up British citizenship must think we are all mad. These isles are famous for embracing all nationalities and religions, so why should people be told not to embrace our own traditions?

DIANE SNOW

MY husband is a Muslim who had his first Christmas last year — and he enjoyed every minute. I don’t celebrate the end of Ramadan but I’m not going to stop those who want to.

KAREN KORKMAZ
Brentwood, Essex

BRITAIN is a multicultural society and all non-Christian religions are allowed to have their festivals. So why are Christians being penalised?

EMMA STEER
Havering, Essex

I WOULD advise the do-gooders trying to ban Christmas to see what happens in Dubai, where I live.

Although it’s a Muslim country, stores are filled with Santa’s Grottos and other reminders of this Christian celebration.

All religions celebrate their own festivals here and they are all respected without prejudice by every section of society.

TONY JOHNSON
Dubai

I’M fully behind The Sun’s Save Christmas campaign. Imagine the uproar if Ramadan were treated in the same way.

ALAN LOCKLEY
Nuneaton, Warwicks

I WORK in a multi-cultural environment, get to see and join in the celebrations of other faiths and enjoy mini-lectures on the history behind each — whether it be Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu or Christian.

I haven’t heard any of these people muttering about the celebration of Christmas.

The PC brigade do more harm than good.
